GMA Consult Group kindly reminds about the new requirements concerning EER limits for the household air conditioners that should be followed in the UAE after implementation of the national standard UAE.S 5010-1:2019 “Labeling – Energy efficiency label for electrical appliances – Part 1: Household Air Conditioners”.

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) postponed the enforcement date of the standard till the end of January 2023 that gives manufacturers and importers time to prepare for the new requirements and remain competitive with the product on the UAE market. Once the new requirements become mandatory, it will be required to meet the compliance of the new EER limits that should be reflected in the new ECAS/EQM certificate of conformity.
