The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MIC) issued a new Circular 6/2021/TT-BTTTT on promulgating the National technical regulation 127:2021/BTTTT on standalone 5G user equipment — radio access. The Circular will enter in force from March 1, 2022. The Regulation itself becomes mandatory from July 1, 2022. It means that from July 2022 both imported and domestically produced 5G user equipment must meet the requirements specified in QCVN 127:2021/BTTTT to get access to the market of Vietnam.
However, the MIC encourages manufacturers and importers to apply for certification against QCVN 127:2021/BTTTT requirements from the effective date of the Circular.
The Regulation specifies the radio access technical requirements for standalone 5G mobile communication network terminals operating on all or one of the following bands:
Single 5G mobile communication network mobile phone devices must ensure minimum operation on all bands n1, n3, n28, n41, n77, n78.
NOTE: The bands n77, n78 must be ready for use once these bands are open in Vietnam.
The regulation contains requirements to the transmitters and receivers of UEs operating on the FR1 and FR2 bands as well as test methods.
Please, also note that the relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing regulations on certification of conformity and announcement of conformity of 5G mobile communication network terminals independently.
