The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in Thailand has published technical standards NBTC TS 3004-2567 for digital broadcasting receivers.
The standard applies to digital audio broadcasting (DAB) radio receivers with MPEG-4 high-efficiency advanced audio coding version 2 (MPEG-4HE AAC v2) and specifies characteristics of the following receivers:
The standard doesn’t cover integral digital receivers such as computer-connected receivers in the form of dongles or PCI cards, etc.
The standard became mandatory from February 28, 2025. However, requirements for digital broadcasting radio receivers intended for use in the new vehicle become effective from October 31, 2025.
