Updates in Saudi Arabia Market Access

The Saudi Organisation for Standardization, Metrology and Quality (SASO) announces that the SABER platform and FASAH are fully integrated from July 1, 2020.

FASAH is a unified portal for secure electronic data exchange between all parties and stakeholders involved in import and export operations. This portal allows users to facilitate the process of clearing the product at the customs ports through a single window.

Please note that an applicant first needs to prepare the set of conformity documents and to fill in different import permission forms. When all the necessary procedures are passed, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) is checking the documentation to determine whether it is possible to issue the import license or not. In case of rejection, the applicant can ask the CITC to explain the reasons for refusal. All these stages are implemented through one e-window that makes the procedure much more easy-to-use.

Thus, before July 1, it was necessary to register several documents such as conformity certificates and the shipment conformity certificate electronically on the SABER platform.

The information has been prepared by the GMA Consult Group team.
