On November 25, 2019, The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates has issued an updated version of the technical specifications regarding the emergency call requirements that take in considerations EC initiatives on eSafety.
The requirements of the specifications are applicable to the emergency call infrastructure. However, you should remember that if several technical specifications can be applicable to the equipment, requirements of all the applicable specifications must be met.
The TRA reminds that all the equipment first of all should comply with TRA TS001 specifications on EMC and safety requirements anyway.
The technical requirements are available in the form of links to the relevant European standards and specifications applicable to In-band modem, GSM, and UMTS radio and network specifications. So the compliance of the product with emergency call requirements can be proven by meeting the requirements of relevant european standards and specifications according to the TS FS 002.
Please keep in mind that all handsets entering UAE shall be compliant with the TRA specifications, effective from 2020 for all 2021 models.
