Thailand Updates Requirements for Some Radiocommunication Equipment

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand (NBTC) issued a new standard NBTC TS 1035-2562 Radiocommunication Equipment Using 2.4GHz and/or 5GHz. The document became effective on November 12, 2019. This new standard replaces NBTS TS 1012-2551 Broadband Wireless Access (Radio Local Area Network) Radiocommunication Equipment.

However, certificates that were issued according to NBTS TS 1012-2551 requirements will not be withdrawn.

The main changes concern the following:

  • New versions of the standards as well as some new reference standards were added for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz SRD bands.  For 2.4 GHz: EN 300 328 V2.1.1 or current, FCC Part 15.247 is used. For 5.150-5.350 GHz and 5.470-5.725 GHz : EN 301 893 V2.1.1 or current, FCC Part 15.407 are used.  For 5.725-5.850 GHz: EN 302 502 V2.1.1 or current, FCC Part 15.247 or 407 are used. Please, note, earlier it was possible to provide the EN 300 440 report. Now the NCB won’t accept test reports against this standard but only EN 302 502 V2.1.1 or current, FCC Part 15.247 or 407 can be applicable.
  • Output Power Limit (EIRP) are the following:
  • New reference standards for the LTE frequency band were added: ETSI TS 136 104 v.13.2.0 and ETSI TS 136 101 v.13.2.0.
  • Electrical safety requirements were also updated:   Reports against IEC 62368-1 requirements are accepted (Previously, only TIS 1561-2556 or IEC 60950-1 were accepted).
