The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore updated two technical specifications. One is for Cellular Base Station and Repeater System and another is for Cellular Mobile Terminal in September 2020.
The technical specifications for Cellular Base Station and Repeater System define the minimum technical requirements for Cellular Base Station and Repeater System (“CBS”) to be used in the Public Mobile Radio Communication System and services that concerns:
- Radio interface technologies (UTRA FDD and E-UTRA FDD)
- IMT-Advanced radio interface technologies
- LTE-Advanced technology series from 3GPP
- IMT-2020 radio interface technologies (5G NR)
The major changes from the previous version can be defined as follows:
The technical specifications for Cellular Mobile Terminal define the minimum technical requirements for Cellular Mobile Terminal (“CMT”) to be used in the Public Mobile Radio Communication System and services:
- Radio interface technologies (UTRA FDD and E-UTRA FDD)
- IMT-Advanced radio interface technologies
- LTE-Advanced technology series from 3GPP
- IMT-2020 radio interface technologies (5G NR)
The specification was amended by the following:
It becomes necessary to use the IEC 60950-1 or the IEC 62368-1 standards for safety products issues.
