Saudi Arabia Postpones SASO IEC 62368-1:2020 Standard

The GMA Consult Group reminds our Subscribers that the SASO officially published standard SASO-IEC-62368-1:2020 “Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment - Part 1: Safety requirements” in the end of November 2020 and announced the transition from the Standards SASO-IEC-60950-1 and SASO-IEC-60065 to SASO-IEC-62368-1 for Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment that should be ended on July 1, 2021. However, recently the SASO has notified the postponement of the implementation date of SASO IEC 62368-1:2020. Thus, the new standard will be effective from January 1, 2023.

This national standard is equivalent to IEC 62368-1:2018 standard and was developed as identical to IEC 62368-1:2018. So test reports issued against the requirements of the previous version of the standard SASO IEC 62368-1:2017 (IEC 62368-1:2014) will be accepted until December 30, 2022.
