The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) issued notice 2021-0283 on the enactment of KC 62368-1 standard on August 27, 2021. The KATS explains that the national standards on safety requirements for electrical and household appliances are revised according to the updated international standards for these categories of products Korean standards based on.
Thus, the KATS releases KC 62368-1 standard “Audio/Video and Information and Communication Technology Equipment Part 1 Safety Requirements” that replaces the following standards:
However, the KATS informs that all the above-mentioned standards can be applicable up to December 31, 2022. After this date, only KC 62368-1 can be used to show the compliance of audio/video and information and communication technology equipment with the national safety requirements. It means that certificates issued against KC 60065, KC 60950-1 or KC 60950-22 requirements will be invalid from January 1, 2023, and you could not import and sell audio/video and information and communication technology equipment in the Korean market until he gets the new certificate.
