Indonesia Issues New Decree on Recognition of Foreign Test Labs for Telecommunication Devices

Recently, the SDPPI of Indonesia issued Decree 36 of 2020 regarding the recognition of foreign test labs for telecommunication devices. This decree concerns telecommunication devices different to mobile phones, tablet computers, and handheld computers.

According to this Decree, it is possible to provide test reports issued by foreign test laboratories that have accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 and have the relevant accreditation certificate.

The Decree contains a list of 150 recognized foreign test labs. This list is valid only for six months.

Please note that the test report should contain information on the responsible expert with contact details, namely: phone number and email address. Moreover, test reports should be accompanied with a summary of test results that are related to the technical requirements of Indonesian regulations. When these conditions are met, it is possible to apply for the certification procedure with test reports issued by the foreign test lab.
