GMA Consult Group has earlier informed that the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology started development of 55 standards for the textile industry. Please, be informed that these standards became effective from July 1, 2020.
Among these 55 standards, there are both newly developed standards and those that were amended significantly.
Let’s explore standards for knitted wear:
FZ/T 73020-2019 “Knitted Casual Wear” specifies the terms and definitions of knitted casual clothing, product types, test methods, sampling rules, product instructions, packaging, transportation, and storage.
It applies to the identification of the quality of leisure clothing made mainly of textile knitted fabrics and does not apply to products for infant young children of 36 months old.
The key changes:
- Requirements for fiber content must be in accordance with GB/T 29862
- Such parameter as color fastness to washing and rubbing of printing (pressing) pattern was removed
- Measurement methods of dimensional stability related to skirts were removed
- Laundry solution staining was added for a product with over 30% surface area with dark color fabric
- Colour fastness to washing/water/perspiration/rubbing on lining was added
- Added the assessment content of the appearance quality after washing
- Assessment of colorfastness to washing/ water/ perspiration/ rubbing/ dry cleaning on natural color and bleaching product is not carried out
- washable products - 4 samples
- dry cleaning products - 2 samples
- products that can be washed and dry cleaned - 5 samples
FZ/T 73022-2019 “Knitted thermal underwear” specifies the product types, test methods, product instructions, packaging, transportation, and storage.
It applies to the identification of the quality of thermal underwear products made of knitted fabrics with a thermal insulation rate of 30% or more.
The key changes:
- Requirements for fiber content must be in accordance with GB/T 29862
- Bursting strength with regards to multi-layer structure products
- Color staining characteristics were changed
- Such parameter as color fastness to washing and rubbing of printing (pressing) pattern was removed
- Colour fastness to washing/water/perspiration/rubbing on lining was added
- Assessment of color fastness to washing/ water/ perspiration/ rubbing/ dry cleaning on natural color and bleaching product is not carried out
- Requirements of GB/T 5296.4 and GB 31701 for Infant and children’s products are added
FZ/T 73025-2019 “Knitted Garments and Accessories for Infants” specifies the terms and definitions, sizes and specifications requirements, test methods, sampling rules, determination rules, and instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage.
It applies to knitted apparel made of knitted fabrics for infants and young children, including underwear, outerwear, pajamas, bags, bedding, etc.
The key changes:
- Requirements for heavy metal content, phthalate content, attached components, filling materials, pilling, appearance after washing, water-vapour transmission rate, down-proof property of down garments were added according to GB 31701
- Colour fastness test to saliva and cross staining on natural color and bleached fabrics carried out
- Requirements and test methods to appearance after washing, protection against downy fibre in downy garments were added
