Brazilian ANATEL informs on the special conditions within the certification maintenance procedure, remote audits, and remote monitoring of laboratory tests that result from the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
In the official letter, ANATEL allows skipping internal and external photos of the product and test reports or other documents applicable to the current maintenance period. Only declaration is required within the certification maintenance procedure.
However, if a product or technical requirements applicable to the product have been changed, the applicant must provide all the necessary documents including photos and test reports for the subsequent maintenance procedure.
Please, note that these conditions do not relate to the product that failed during the testing within the last conformity assessment procedure.
Additionally, ANATEL permits to conduct remote audits in manufacturing units and testing laboratories instead of visiting them directly. In case of remote audits, all the online meetings must be properly recorded and saved to prove the reliability in carrying out such activities remotely.
The temporary and alternative conditions established above are applicable only to the product which certificate validity is up to July 31, 2022. The same date applies for audits and remote test monitoring.
