Be Aware of New Requirements When Importing Products to EAEU

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission issued a decision “On the procedure for importing into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union products subject to mandatory conformity assessment in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union”. The document becomes effective in February 2022

According to the Decision, products subject to mandatory conformity assessment in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union must be accompanied by a copy of the certificate or declaration of conformity. It means that the Customs Applicant should have these copies when filing a declaration or an application for the release of goods before filing the goods declaration.

When submitting to the customs authority to confirm compliance with technical regulation in relation to imported products, please, make sure that the certificate or declaration of conformity is effective on the date of registration of the declaration for goods or application for the release of goods before filing a declaration for goods.

The customs applicant will be able to use the conformity assessment documents for the product if the applicant is:

a) the person indicated in such documents as the applicant when assessing the conformity of this product with mandatory requirements;

b) the person specified in the vehicle type approval (chassis type approval);

c) the person authorized by the applicant in conformity assessment procedure or by the manufacturer to use such documents to confirm compliance with technical regulation for serial production. In this case, the specified person must have copies of conformity documents authenticated by the seal of the applicant for the conformity assessment procedure or the manufacturer.
