Vietnam Updates Digital Terrestrial Television Receiver Standard

Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) issued Circular 17/2020/TT-BTTTT on the publication of new technical regulation QCVN 63:2020/BTTTT at the end of August 2020.

The regulations QCVN 63:2020/BTTTT applies to digital receivers used in DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television equipment and specifies minimum technical requirements for unencrypted digital terrestrial television receivers (Free To Air - FTA) according to DVB-T2 standard, supporting SDTV and / or HDTV standards in Vietnam that have HS code as below:

This regulation is applicable to both standalone receivers (STB) and receivers integrated in a television receiver (iDTV), which supports SDTV and / or HDTV standards.

The new Regulation QCVN 63:2020/BTTTT replaces the QCVN 63:2012/BTTTT and becomes effective from July 1, 2021.
