The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam issued Circular No. 24/2022/TT-BTTTT together with QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT National technical regulation on electrical safety requirements for telecommunications and information technology terminal equipment.
The QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT developed on top of IEC 62368-1:2018 “Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment - Part 1: Safety requirements”. Please, note that QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT will terminate QCVN 13/2021/TT-BTTTT that is mostly based on IEC 62949:2017.
Requirements of QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT apply to the following products with the corresponding HS codes:
QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT replaces the technical requirements specified in Clause 2.4 of QCVN 22:2010/BTTTT, that are:
2.4. Electrical safety requirements for telecommunications terminal equipment itself
2.4.1. General requirements
2.4.2. Source interface
2.4.3. Protection against hazards
- protection against electric shock and energy hazards
- insulation
- SELV circuit
- current limiting circuits
- provisions for grounding
- main Electric shut off
- safety lock
2.4.4. Leakage current
2.4.5. Earth leakage currents for equipment connected to IT power systems
MIC will temporarily accept test results of domestic and foreign accredited testing organizations against respective technical requirements of IEC 62368-1:2018 when assessing the conformity against QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT until further guidance.
Circular No. 24/2022/TT-BTTTT and QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT become effective from January 1st, 2024.
