Vietnam Launches Technical Regulation on Short-Range Devices

GMA Consult Group informs that the National technical regulation (123:2021/BTTTT) on Short-Range Device (SRD) — Radio equipment to be used in the 40-246 GHz frequency range — comes into force from July 1, 2022 in Vietnam.

This document specifies requirements for short-range radio transmitting and receiving devices of general use. Among them are:

  • radio warning devices
  • radio remote control equipment
  • telemetry equipment

The document also sets the following bands and limits:

Spurious emission limits:

Unwanted radiated power:

  • shall not exceed 2 nW (-57 dBm) on the frequency range 30 MHz to 1 GHz
  • shall not exceed 20 nW (-47 dBm 1 MHz reference measurement bandwidth) in the frequency range above 1 GHz

When the equipment can operate in different modes and in different frequency bands, the applicant should declare these frequencies for each mode and frequency band.
