Recently, The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States introduced the new Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) guidance. For this version, information on the composite device rule is added as well as the rule parts containing SDoC requirements other than Part 15.
Thus, the SDoC procedure is applicable to the equipment that does not contain a radio transmitter and contains only digital circuitry.
However, please note that if the end-product has both unintentional radiators and intentional radiators generally the compliance of the unintentional radiators can be proved under the SDoC or certification procedure while the intentional radiators require certification procedure only.
It is also important that the equipment that approved under the SDoC procedure is not included in any FCC database. Nevertheless, you should remember that the technical files with the relevant test reports should be ready and provided on the request by the FCC.
Remember, if the product is subject to the SDoC procedure the responsible part can show the compliance of the device either through declaration or certification procedure.
As stated above, the FCC added information on rule parts and sections that contain equipment requirements with regards to the SDoC procedure. Now it is more convenient for the responsible party to find and choose the relevant rules. The general table of the rule parts is provided below:
