Compliance deadlines for each specific product are introduced on a phased basis. From April 12, 2019, the ecodesign requirements have become applicable to fluorescent lamps and the transitional period has ended for non-compliant foregoing products.

  • fluorescent lamps without integrated ballast
  • high-intensity discharge lamps
  • ballasts and luminaires able to operate such lamps

From April 12, 2019, lamps can be placed on the market if they comply with the requirements of the Annex III of the Commission Regulation (EC) No 245/2009 and if their energy efficiency index comply with the requirements of the Annex 3.1. of the Ordinance of November 1, 2017.

As regards to marking requirements, the energy label must comply with the Annexes I-IV and VI-VII Commission Regulation (EU) No 874/2012. The exception is EU emblems.
