Circular No 08/2019/TT-BKHCN issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Vietnam recently came into force.This Circular should be considered in conjunction with QCVN 19:2019/BKHCN and concerns national technical regulations on LED lighting products.
Manufactures and importers of the following products should pay attention to the roadmap for applying QCVN 19:2019/BKHCN:
According to the roadmap indicated in the Circular, safety and EMC requirements for these types of products should be met from June 1, 2020.
Thus, from this date LED luminaires should comply with the requirements of the following standards:
Double-capped LED lamps should follow:
With regard to EMI requirements the products should meet TCVN 7186:2018 (CISPR 15:2018).
The above-mentioned types of product must meet safety and EMC requirements to the full extent to get access to the market of Vietnam starting from June 1, 2021.
Please, note that if the products have been put to the market before June 1, 2020 it is allowed to sell these products up to June 1, 2022.
However, the MOST recommends all manufacturers and importers of LED lighting products start thinking of compliance with the requirements today.
