In this article, let’s explore which standard to choose for Audio/Video and similar electronic apparatus or IT equipment when applying for national confirmation of conformity document of Ukraine or Moldova.

In Ukraine, there is a national standard system that includes standards harmonized with European or international standards.

The system contains different valid versions of standards. Thus, according to the Order 309 dated by February 22, 2019, national DSTU EN 62368-1:2017 replaces  EN 60065:2014 + A11:2017 and EN 60950-1:2006 + A11:2009 + A12:2011 + A1:2010 + A2:2013 in Ukraine on December 20, 2020.

However, it is worth mentioning that in Ukraine the following version of the standards relating to Audio/Video and similar electronic apparatus or IT equipment still in force simultaneously:

• DSTU EN 62368-1:2015 that is identical to EN 62368-1:2014/AC:2015
• DSTU EN 60065:2017 that is identical to EN 60065:2014; AC:2016; AC:2017; A11:2017, IDT and IEC 60065:2014, MOD; Cor 1:2015; Cor 2:2016
• DSTU EN 60950-1:2019 that is identical to EN 60950-1:2006 and worked out on the base of IEC 60950-1:2005

So for now an applicant who has test reports against  EN 60065:2014 + A11:2017 or EN 60950-1:2006 + A11:2009 + A12:2011 + A1:2010 + A2:2013 requirements can receive a confirmation of conformity document against whether DSTU EN 60065:2017  / DSTU EN 60950-1:2019 requirements or DSTU EN 62368-1:2017 requirements in Ukraine.

If he has test reports against EN 62368-1:2014/AC:2015 requirements, he can get the conformity document against DSTU EN 62368-1:2015 only.

However, please note that the situation can change and those who get confirmation of conformity document against DSTU EN 60065:2017 or DSTU EN 60950-1:2019 might have to re-apply to get the relevant confirmation of conformity document against DSTU EN 62368-1:2017 requirements to the access to the market of Ukraine in future.

The situation in Moldova is quite different. For now SM SR EN 60950-1 is not valid and all Audio/Video and similar electronic apparatus or IT equipment are subject to  SM EN 62368-1: 2015/AC:2015/A11:2017/AC:2017 requirements.

Actually, the previously issued national certificate/declaration of Moldova against SM SR EN 60950-1 is going to be valid up to their termination date. If you decide to apply with Audio/Video and similar electronic apparatus or IT equipment for SM certificate of conformity or declaration of conformity, be ready to access the product according to SM EN 62368-1 requirement.
