Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) issued the second revision of the SRD specifications on May 6, 2020.
The main changes of the second revision concern the update of the frequency bands and maximum transmit power limits for generic and specific SRD applications as well as technical requirements for new SRD applications such as Ultra-Wideband (UWB), inductive devices and automotive radars. These changes were made to reach compliance with the latest Class Assignment No. 2 of 2019.
Apart from this, new requirements with regards to safety and EMC provisions were made. Thus, the SRDs that are directly connected to the service providers’ networks must meet the MS IEC 60950-1, IEC 62368-1 or any equivalent standards requirements to show that they are safe.
Moreover, the SRDs that connect (directly or indirectly) to an AC mains network and connect directly to the service providers’ networks must comply with the conducted emission requirements according to the ETSI EN 301 489-1 or CISPR 32 or any equivalent standards.
