Malaysia Published New Class Assignments

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) issued Class Assignment №1 of 2022 that became effective on January 19, 2022 and superseded the version of 2021. The document determines categories of products and conditions of use to get approval from the MCMC or its registered certifying agency. 

Please, note that according to the Class Assignment №1 of 2022, it is possible to use frequency bands of 477.0125 MHz to 477.4875 MHz and 477.5250 to 477.9875 MHz for Personal radio service (PRS) devices only until December 31, 2022.

Fixed-satellite service (FSS) earth stations should operate only in the following frequency bands, starting from January, 2022:


New frequency band was also added for Short Range Devices (SRDs):

  • 5925-6425 MHz with 25 mW e.i.r.p. for both indoor and outdoor use 
  • 5925-6425 MHz with 200 mW e.i.r.p. for indoor use only

New frequency bands were added for Inductive Applications:

  • 2400-2500 MHz with 500 mW e.i.r.p. 
  • 5725-5875 MHz with 1 W e.i.r.p.
