On December 31, 2021, the 3G network stopped working in Malaysia. With this regard, SIRIM QAS International introduced the changes in renewal and type approval procedures for 3G devices that became effective from January 1, 2022. 

Thus, already-certified 3G devices that also support 2G, 4G, and/or 5G technologies can get the renewal without any changes. It means that information about 3G application will be kept.

Please, note ер that if you want to apply for type approval with the new 3G device you can do it. However, in spite of the unoperated 3G network in Malaysia, you still need to provide the related test report to include 3G technology in the certificate of compliance.
