Indonesia Updates Market Access Rules for WLAN Devices Operating on 2.4 and 5.8 GHz Frequency Bands

SDPPI issued the official announcement number 250/KOMINFO/DJSDPPI/SP.04.03/03/2019 on March, 15th 2019. This announcement concerns placing on the market devices that can operate at the frequency bands other than 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz.

SDPPI explains that currently there are only documents that regulate the usage of frequency bands of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz in Indonesia.

Thus, to apply for certification with regards to telecommunication devices, the applicant should provide a declaration letter ensuring that:

  • Frequency bands other than 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz will be locked in the device before placing on the market of Indonesia
  • If it is detected that the device does not meet the requirements of the applicable regulation, the applicant should be imposed with sanctions.
