India Updates List of Electronic and IT Goods Subject to Mandatory Registration

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India announced 12 new categories of the products to be added to the list of Electronics and Information Technology Goods:

Thus, there are 56 categories of products that will require compulsory registration to get access to the market of India for now.

Please, note that for the 12 categories of products, there is a maximum transition period of three months from the date of the Order validity. Within this period, representatives of the foreign manufactures that have liaison or branch offices in India would have the opportunity to affix Standard Mark at the ports having unique registration numbers for clearance of goods from customs.
