India's Telecommunication Engineering Center (TEC) has recently released an official update (amendment of notification no. 5-2/2021-TC/TEC/165 dated June 23, 2023) regarding the testing and certification of telecommunication equipment under the Phase V of the MTCTE regime.
The amendments concern the date of mandatory certification and ILAC test reports acceptance.
The mandatory certification process under Phase V of the MTCTE regime will start from July 1, 2024. However, those interested can start applying for this certification through the MTCTE portal starting from July 1, 2023.
TEC has highlighted that for specific product categories, test reports issued by ILAC accredited laboratories from non-border sharing countries will be accepted until June 30, 2024. The product categories are:
