New updated standard NOM-001-SCFI-2018 applicable to electronic devices was adopted in September 2019. The standard replaces version NOM-001-SCFI-1993 and will become effective on May 15, 2020.
This new standard establishes the characteristics and safety requirements for electronic equipment that is manufactured, imported, and distributed on the territory of the United Mexican States. It focuses on consumer safety of life and health and aims to reduce those risks related to the installed equipment.

Please, note that the current certificates of conformity issued according to the requirements of NOM-001-SCFI-1993 prior to the new standard comes into force will be effective until the end of their validity period.
