The Gambia Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) issued the Gambia National Frequency Allocations Table (GNFAT) in the frequency range 9 kHz to 275 GHz.
The document will help to develop new radio services, stimulate technological innovations, and manage the radio spectrum requirements for government and commercial sectors.
The GNFAT has been worked out on the base of ITU Recommendation and aimed at harmonizing the spectrum use. The document divides the radiofrequency spectrum into nine frequency bands and specifies the general purposes for each of them:
VLF (Very Low Frequency) — 3 to 30 kHz
LF (Low Frequency) — 30 to 300 kHz
MF (Medium Frequency) — 300 to 3000 kHz
HF (High Frequency) — 3 to 30 MHz
VHF (Very High Frequency) — 30 to 300 MHz
UHF (Ultra High Frequency) — 300 to 3000 MHz
SHF (Super High Frequency) — 3 to 30 GHz
EHF (Extra High Frequency) — 30 to 300 GHz
(No Symbol designated) — 300 to 3000 GHz
Please note that Gambia is going to issue amendments to the GNTFA from time to time. The amendments will mostly depend on international and national decisions and recommendations.
