The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China has recently announced a new digital format for Network Access Permits. This update aims to make the process more flexible and eco-friendly.
The new digital Network Access Permit can be created by the manufacturers themselves, as long as they follow the guidelines set forth by the MIIT. This digital permit can be displayed in various ways, such as on-screen within the device's operating system. This eliminates the need for paper permits, making the process more sustainable.
Before using this new digital permit, manufacturers must submit all necessary information about their telecommunication equipment, along with their plans for displaying the new permit, to the MIIT. Once approved, the manufacturer is free to use the new digital permit on their products.
Manufacturers have multiple options for displaying the new permit:
The digital permit consists of four Chinese characters of "network access license" or "network trial", a graphic logo, and a shading background color. Black and white styles are also available but without a shading background.
Device model should be consistent with the equipment model listed in the network access license (including the approval document for network access trial). The manufacturer should also add it on the license logo vector diagram according to the specification requirements.
Each digital Network Access Permit includes a unique 21-character code. The first six characters are tied to the device's model number, which is obtained along with the Network Access Permit. The remaining 15 characters are generated by the MIIT based on the application of the manufacturer.
Manufacturers are no longer required to display the Network Access Permit number on telecommunication product packaging, built-in information, or advertisements.
