The Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has recently updated the Interference-Causing Equipment Standard, ICES-001 on Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) Equipment. The new version will replace ICES-001, issue 4 “Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) Radio Frequency Generator”.
The new revision sets the minimum requirements applicable to industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) equipment. Among them are such requirements as limits for radiated and conducted radio frequency emissions produced by ISM equipment and administrative requirements. It should be read in conjunction with the CSA CISPR 11:19, Industrial, scientific and medical equipment – Radio-frequency disturbance characteristics – Limits and methods of measurement.
The comments on the draft have been already received and included in the revision 5. The following amendments were made taking into account the comments:
Once the transition period is finished all products subject to this standard shall comply with issue 5 of ICES-001 in Canada.
