The ANATEL issued the Act №1630 on March 21, 2021. This Act updates testing procedures for evaluating the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for telecommunications products and repeals the previous Act 955 dated by February 8, 2018.
The new Act considers updates made by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in 2020.
The Measurement procedure for the assessment of specific absorption rate of human exposure to radio frequency fields from hand-held and body-mounted wireless communication devices are aligned with the provisions indicated in the IEC/IEEE 62209-1528 except for the frequency range. The act is applicable for telecommunications devices operating at the frequency range of 4 MHz to 6 GHz.
