Brazil Amends Technical Requirements for the Conformity Assessment of Restricted Radiation Radio Com

The National Telecommunications Agency of Brazil (ANATEL) issued Act No 4776 on September 1, 2020. This Act amends some provisions stated in Act 14448 on the Technical Requirements for the Conformity Assessment of Restricted Radiation Radiocommunication Equipment dated by December 4, 2017.

In general, changes concern the following:

  • The Act No 4776 amends some definitions as well as adds several new ones
  • ANATEL restricts implementation of vehicle-mounted field disturbance sensors operating in 22-29 GHz and 46.7-46.9 GHz. This provision will become effective from January 1, 2022.

However, the Agency also gives the explanation in which cases the sale and installation of such sensors are still possible.

  • It becomes possible to use vehicle-mounted field disturbance sensors operating in 76 – 81 GHz with the average power limits of 50 dBm EIRP and peak 55 dBm EIRP
  • Regulations for Level Detection Emitter-Sensor operating in the 76-81GHz were added
