The Act updates Act №3152 on technical requirements for conformity assessment procedure for mobile cell phones. ANATEL specifies additional requirements to the mobile cell phones that have hardware capable of receiving signals from the sound broadcasting service in modulated frequency (FM). It means that the applicant of such equipment should provide the declaration that proves the ability of the mobile phone to receive signals from the sound broadcasting service in modulated frequency (FM) within the conformity assessment procedure.
Additionally, ANATEL specifies the following new requirements and test methods applicable to 5G NR technology:
1. Frequency range 1 non-standalone intra-band non-contiguous SMP:
2. Frequency range 1 non-standalone inter-band SMP:
3. Frequency range 2 standalone and SMP (test methods according to ETSI TS 138 521-2 V16.6.0 (2021-02)):
4. Frequency range 2 standalone inter-band SMP (test methods according to ETSI TS 138 521-3 V16.6.0 (2021-01)):
Please, note that if the standard tests are not intended for the “LTE anchor agnostic”, it is possible to use approach with anchoring in 3 (three) LTE bands (lower frequency band, intermediate frequency band and higher frequency band), performing the combination of the 3 LTE bands with all the NR 5G bands.
Furthermore, ANATEL updates the following standards for application:
The also add the following standard:
ANATEL notes that if previously approved terminals are going to be put to the market of Brazil with the new combinations of 4G and 5G dual connectivity (EN-DC combinations) according to the new versions of above-mentioned standards, it is necessary to submit new test reports to ANATEL within 6 months from the publication date of the Act.
